Drinking water distribution at ABRC Field Office

In response to the overwhelming demands for water supply in Barbuda, due to the rapid increase of returning population and a temporary malfunction of the only desalinating plant available, the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross is ensuring distribution drinking water to all population in the island.

This distribution round, which started yesterday Tuesday 20th, will last until main resource is repaired and water secured.  Every family with four or less persons will be provided with 20 litres of water and families with more than five persons are being given 40 litres.

Since the beginning of the Irma response Operation, ABRC has distributed a total of 16,939 litters of drinking water to affected population.
