The Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross continues its relief efforts after the passage of Hurricane Irma with the donation of US $50,000 worth of medical equipment to the Hannah Thomas Hospital in Barbuda through the Canadian Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC).

The medical equipment, according to President of the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Michael Joseph “get the Hannah Thomas Hospital operational for continued clean-up operations”. The equipment includes a Complete Consultation room as well as a Full Emergency Room.

Marvin Fiedtkou, Public Relations Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Medical Services expressed gratitude to the Red Cross and Ministry of Health for the donation and stated that the state of the art equipment will be very useful in the rebuilding of Barbuda and beyond.
